Report on "For Such a Time as This", February 3, 2012

*"Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as
this." *Esther 4:14

*"And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the
face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the
boundaries of their dwellings." *Acts 17:16

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Last Saturday, around 400 believers from 19 churches across the Cape from
diverse denominational and theologial backgrounds gathered together for a
time of worship, prayer and exhortaions. We stood in the gap for Cape Cod
praying for the glory of God in our midst and the subsequent outbreak of
revival. We prayed for Barnstable High School students, teachers,
administrators and all staff, that the Lord would pour out His Spirit in the
school and that many at the school may come to the saving knowledge of our
Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. There were some Christian students, teachers
and staff in attendance, and the pastors gathered around them and prayed for

The day before the meeting, a Christian husband and wife were stirred to
drive to every village on the Cape and gather soil from each village and put
it in a pot. They brought the pots with soil from each village and they were
given to the pastors to take to their churches in the different villages as
a prophetic act and reminder for churches to pray for their villages, that
each village would yield a harvest of souls into the kingdom of God.

*If you attended the meeting, we would love to hear your feedback on
anything you would like to share with us about it.*

Our next meeting is on Feb 24 from 7-8 pm at First Baptist Church in
Pocasset. For directions see:

*Below is a brief summary of what was shared Saturday's meeting:*

*“That He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having
spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without
blemish” *Ephesians 5:27

*“Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb
has come, and **his bride** has made herself ready” *Rev. 19:7

The story of human history from Genesis to Revelation is one story moving
forward in the direction of the above verses. It is the story of God’s love
and relentless pursuit of man, of God looking for a people to be His.
Beginning with Israel in the Old Testament, then grafting in the gentiles in
the New Testament to make one flock, it is the story of God preparing a
bride for Himself from every tribe, nation and tongue.

The main characters of that story in every chapter of history are God’s
people appearing on the scene in every generation, fulfilling His purposes
for that generation. Those who have gone before us in earlier chapters of
history are now the cloud of witnesses surrounding us mentioned in Hebrews
12, and today we find ourselves part of that story. We were all appointed by
God to live at this hour of history. Furthermore, the Lord ordained that we
live on Cape Cod, the birthplace of this nation. He stirred all of us and
put a cry in our heart for His glory among us even as spiritual darkness is
increasing and the world around us is increasingly hostile to God and His
laws. We corporately are Esther of our time called to stand in the gap for
our land, and we need to rise and respond to our calling, beginning by
turning to God in prayer and responding to the call of corporate unified
prayer. Corporate prayer gives birth to the purposes of God.

As we do, we can expect to launch out into the deep with Jesus, and see a
great harvest* "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a
catch.....and when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish,
and their net was breaking..." *Luke 5:4, 6
