The Glory of God on Cape Cod: December 10, 2008 update

Today pastors and leaders from across the Cape and across denominational
lines, met again to pray for the vision that the Lord deposited in our
hearts, a vision of His Glory in our midst and the subsequent outbreak of
* *
*"Thus says the Lord: 'Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the
mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;** But
let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I
am the Lord, exercising loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the
earth. For in these I delight,' says the Lord." *Jeremiah 9:23,24

*"Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are
Your ways, O king of the saints! Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify
Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship
before You, for Your judgments have been manifested." *Revelations 15: 3,4

The above words from the book of Jeremiah were God's words to Israel, right
before they were about to go into exile. The Lord was judging them or
chastising them for departing from Him. His words were not to count on man's
wisdom, might, or wealth, because these things can be shaken and
will not save in the hour of trouble. His admonition to people right about
to go into exile was to build their house on the rock of knowing Him and
understanding His ways as He revealed them in His Word.

Similarly, We are witnessing the Lord shaking the nations including ours,
because we have largely departed from His ways as Israel did in times
past. God's
word to us at this hour would be the same; to build our lives on the rock or
cultivating intimacy with Him, carefully studying His Word to understand His
ways with man. Only then can we say with the saints in the book of
Revelation in the middle of the storm, that His ways are just and true.
Otherwise, we run the risk of getting confused and even angry at God, for
allowing the disruption of our lives by the coming storm.

This is a time to train our spiritual ears to listen to the whispers of God
in our ears, and be led by His Spirit. We might need to hear like Elijah
did, where to get water, and where to get food. May the Lord gives us ears
to hear and eyes to see.

Also, please remember to let your brothers and sisters in Christ on the Cape
know about the upcoming all Cape prayer gathering. See attached poster.
Please encouraging them to register. Registration is free and not required
for attending, but helps us with planning.
