The Glory of God on Cape Cod: June 11, 2008 update

Today pastors and leaders from across the Cape and across denominational
lines, met again to pray for the vision that the Lord deposited in our
hearts, a vision of His Glory in our midst and the subsequent outbreak of
revival.

*" Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord
listened and heard them; so a book of remembrance was written before Him for
those who feared the Lord and who meditate on His name. 'They shall be Mine',
says the Lord of hosts, 'On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will
spare them as a man spares His own son who serves Him' " *Malachi 3:16,17

*" Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written
for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come"*
1 Cor 10:11

Today we discussed the importance of understanding the seasons we are in,
and recognizing the word of the Lord, and the leading of the Holy Spirit for
us at the present time. It is not enough to know and quote scripture without
having ears to hear what the Holy Spirit is sounding to us.

If we were living in Jerusalem at the time of Isaiah 37, when King
Sennacherib was surrounding Jerusalem, then the word of the Lord to us at
that time would be that the Lord was going to deliver us from this attack.
However, if we were living in Jerusalem later, at the time of Jeremiah 25,
when King Nebuchadnezzar's was surrounding Jerusalem, the word of the Lord
then would be very different; that He is delivering Jerusalem to him. It
would not be enough for us then, if we were living in Jeremiah's time, to
quote Isaiah from a few years earlier. We would need to hear God's voice for
us for the now, and understand God's dealings with us for that season.

Similarly, if we were living in Jerusalem at the time of Joel 2, it would
not be enough to pray and quote the prayer of Jabez; the word of the Lord
for us at the time, would be to hold a Solemn Assembly.

So what is the Lord saying and doing among us on Cape Cod at the present
time? We believe the Lord is gathering His remnant and calling all of us
corporately to prayer as His watchmen for this area, and to call others to
do the same. This will prepare us for the coming season, a season of both
glory and difficulty, a season of Isaiah 60:1,2.

Let us all resolve to:

*I. Make every Christian home in your church a house of prayer*. Let every
Christian home on Cape Cod commit to praying half an hour a day specifically
that : a. The Lord would pour His Spirit on us and our families, that His
Presence would fill our lives (The disciples in the book of Acts were filled
many times, not just once), and that the Presence and Glory of God would
fill our homes.

b. The Lord would pour out His Spirit on your church, that the Presence and
the Glory of God would fill your church where you attend and all the
churches of Cape Cod.

c. The Lord would pour out His Spirit on your town where you live, that He
would bring multitudes to His Kingdom in your town and all over the Cape.

*II. Make every Christian church on the Cape a house a prayer.* If your
church has a vibrant, well-attended prayer meeting, praise God. If not, we
encourage you to start one. Jesus said that the church is a house of prayer,
not only a house of fellowship and preaching/teaching (though of course
these are biblical mandates as well).
We want fervent prayers ascending to the throne of God from every Christian
home and every Christian church on Cape Cod unceasingly; like the widow of
Luke 18:3, until we experience His Glory/manifest Presence in our midst and
the subsequent outbreak of revival.

*III. We further sense that every church would focus its corporate prayer
meeting on praying for the town it is in*; that the Lord would pour out His
Spirit on that particular town and bring multitudes to His Kingdom. This way
we would be building the broken walls of the Cape in a Nehemiah-like
fashion, side by side, town by town. Let us together disseminate this vision
of a Cape Cod Prayer Furnace that asks, seeks, and knocks on heaven's door
for His Glory in our midst and the subsequent outbreak of revival.

Blessings,

The Glory of God on Cape Cod team
