The Glory of God on Cape Cod: March 11, 2009 update: It Is Time!

*"Thus speaks the Lord of hosts , saying:'This people says,"The time has not
come, the time that the Lord's house should be built",Then the word of the
Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying,'Is it time for you yourselves to
dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins? Now
therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways! You have sown
much, and bring in little;you eat, but do not have enough;you drink, but you
are not filled with drink;you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he
who earn wages, earns wages to out into a bag of holes'.*
**
*Thus says the Lord of hosts:Consider your ways! Go up to the mountains and
bring wood and build the temple, that I make take pleasure in it and be
glorified, says the Lord". *Haggai 1: 3-8

*"Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written
for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come." *
1 Cor 10:11

Today pastors and leaders from across the Cape and across denominational
lines, met again to pray for the vision that the Lord deposited in our
hearts, a vision of His Glory in our midst and the subsequent outbreak of
revival.

We discussed the above passage from Haggai. At the time the people of God
were neglecting the house of God/the glory of God, saying that the time had
not come yet to be concened about that. They were more concerned with their
own lives, using their efforts, strength, and resources, to build their own
houses/lives/kingdoms. The result was they did not have the favor/blessing
of God upon their lives, and upon their resources.
*The Lord was correcting their thinking, asking them to consider their ways,
and telling them that this is indeed the time to build His temple!*
**
Similarly, we share a collective witness of the Holy Spirit, that *this is
the time for us to turn away from focusing on our individual little
kingdoms, and instead, in unity, focus on the glory of God in our midst as a
region, and use our efforts, strenghth, and resources together,to be/to
build a dwelling place for the Living God, for His manifest Presence.* *"I
will dwell in them and walk among them". *2 Cor 6:16, with a subsequent
great harvest coming into the kingdom of God on Cape Cod.

We also shared a sense that we are being propelled by the Lord into a new
phase of mobilisation, and we need to pray for wisdom from above
about how to translate the vision of the glory of God on Cape Cod into
specific tasks and action. We again discussed the balance of prayer and
action, of "being" and "doing". We discussed King David as an example, who
both went to war, and also sat before the Lord for hours at a time. He
always "inquired of the Lord" before he went to battle, and that is a good
model for us. *We always need to move out of revelation, rather than our own
good ideas.*
**
To that end we agreed to call *a fast for one day, Thursday 3/19, where we
all fast for seeking wisdom from the Lord, to hear His direction, to
"inquire of Him"*
**
Looking forward to seeing you next meeting.

Blessings,

The glory of God on Cape Cod team.
