The Glory of God on Cape Cod: May 13, 2009: A Call for Transformation

*"..For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God....even
so, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God...but the natural
man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are
foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually
discerned"*
1 Cor 2:10,11,14
**
*"Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they
were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia" *Acts 16:6
**
*"Thus Moses did;according to all that the Lord had commanded him, so he
did.....then the cloud covered the tabernacle of the meeting, and the glory
of the Lord filled the tabernacle'" *Exodus 40:16,34

*"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your mind..."* Romans 12:2

Today pastors and leaders from across the Cape, and from different
denominational and theological backgrounds met to pray for the vision that
the Lord deposited in our hearts; a vision for the glory of God in our midst
and the subsequent outbreak of revival.

We discussed the call for transformation by renewing our mind, and examining
our approach to the things of God. The scripture clearly teaches that our
natural mind with its rationale does not accept the things of God. We need
to submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit, even if it conflicts at times with
our rational way of thinking. An example of that is in the above verse from
Acts 16, where the disciples *were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach
the word *in Asia. To their rational minds, that probably didn't make sense,
because they were commanded by Jesus to go to the *whole world *and preach
the gospel. In God's infinte wisdom and counsel, *He had specific plans for
them at that time*, which was not to go to Asia at that time but to
Macedonia (Acts 16:10).

Similarly, in Exodus 40, Moses did not build the tabernacle according to his
own plans or ideas, he build it specifically according to the pattern that
the Lord showed him. It was *when he obeyed the pattern given to him from
above, that the glory of God filled the tabernacle.*

In our pursuit of the glory of God on Cape Cod, we must renew our minds, and
be sensitive to,and obey the leading of the Holy Spirit, both in our
individual lives, local churches, and in our pursuit of a regional vision
for the glory of God in our midst. *God has specific plans for us as well
and we must seek Him in prayer to find them.*We must not depend on our own
ideas, and programs, but on hearing the heart of God and His pattern. *Our
natural minds at times can be a veil that hides the things of the
Spirit.* *"For
as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God"*
Romans 8:14
