The Glory of God on Cape Cod: October 8, 2008 update

*"This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'In a little while I will once more
shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. 7 I will shake
all nations, and the desired of all nations will come, and I will fill this
house with glory,' says the LORD Almighty. 8 'The silver is mine and the
gold is mine,' declares the LORD Almighty. 9 'The glory of this present
house will be greater than the glory of the former house,' says the LORD
Almighty. 'And in this place I will grant peace,' declares the LORD
Almighty." *Haggai 2:6-9

*"At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, "Once
more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens. "27 The words
"once more" indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created
things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we are
receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship
God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our "God is a consuming fire."

Today we discussed the fact that we are witnessing before our eyes the Lord
shaking everything that can be shaken.
Solid U.S. financial institutions that are 158 year old collapsed and had to
declare bankruptcy. This week governments of Europe convened to figure out
what do do with *their* failing banks and financial crisis. We are living in
unprecedented times of global financial crisis, and we should heed Jesus'
words admonishing us "He who has an ear let him hear"

We should be like the "sons of isachar who understood the times", and see
the hand of our Sovereign Lord, shaking the nations as He promised He would
do.

The good news is that it is in the context of that shaking that the glory of
God will rise upon His people as we respond to Him in obedience. As darkness
and difficulty cover the earth, the light and the glory of God will be seen
upon us, His people (Isaiah 60:1,2)
It's critical that we understand what the Lord is doing so that we are not
offended in God and stumble in our faith when chios and difficulty
accelerate, which will most certainly happen. God will give us wisdom how to
live and what to do in the coming season.

A wise pastor is has recently finished teaching his church a series on "How
to live under the judgments of God" to prepare his flock for the times we
are living in.

*Our safety now and in the times to come*, is to break all agreement with
darkness in our lives, and line our lives right with God. That is the
essence of holiness.

*"Come out of her, My people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you
receive of her plagues." *Revelations 4:18
