Invitation to the August GOGCC Prayer Meeting at Faith Assembly
by Steve Hawley on August 11, 2015Hello Friends,
In Acts 4 Peter and John were arrested and thrown in jail for speaking about Jesus Christ. The next day they were told to stop and were threatened by the Council. There answer was bold, "Which is right in God's eyes: to listen to you, or to him?" Although their answer was bold they were definitely affected by the threats. Their response was to pray, "Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness."
As we do our part to see God's glory, it is normal for external threats and pressures to weaken our resolve. The disciples recognized this and immediately did something about it......they gathered in prayer. The corporate gathering of prayer has profound results. Just look at verse 31, "After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly." God removed the fear associated with the threats and enabled His servants to continue.
On Wednesday, August 26th, we will meet at Faith Assembly of God in Hyannis for our monthly corporate prayer gathering. My hope is that God will enable his servants to do their part in seeing His glory come to an area that so desperately needs it. We start at 6:30pm but please come early and enjoy time catching up with each other. The church is located at 154 Bearses Way and parking is available across the street if needed.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
