Invitation to the July GOGCC Prayer Meeting at Chapel on the Pond

by David McCollough on June 24, 2016
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It is my privilege to extend a warm invitation to you to join us in North Truro at The Chapel on the Pond for the July 27 Glory of God on Cape Cod prayer meeting (6:30-8:00pm).

I'm reminded of a story my Dad told about how, when he was in Bible college, another young man was headed off to the prayer room. The young man said, "I'm going to pray the glory down and then I'm going to sit in it for a while!"
What a great attitude that young student had! Hunger, plus a confidence, no doubt from past experience, that God would show up!

Well, we too wish to enjoy being in the presence of our Lord! "They that hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be filled."

Let us then come with a threefold purpose. First, let us pray up into the presence of God. Then let us pray down the presence of God on our churches. Finally, let us pray through together for the lost!

Looking forward to praying with you!

Blessings,
David J. McCollough, Ph.D.

The First Great Awakening was marked by united multi-church prayer meetings, and in Jonathan Edwards's writings he says that a key verse for those prayer meetings was Zechariah 8:21 "The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying,'Let us continue to go and pray before the Lord, and seek the Lord of hosts. I myself will go also." So join us there, let your friends know that you are going, and invite them to join you!
