Invitation to the June GOGCC Prayer Meeting at Christ Chapel

by Charles Schleich on May 27, 2015
Greetings, all!
    The Next GGCC meeting will be at Christ Chapel 1200 Old Stage Road in Centerville.  We have been praying for some time now for "fire to fall" and revival to come to the churches on the Cape.
    It is important to know who we are and why we need to repent.  As the Lord says,
2 Chronicles 7:14 (RSV)
  [I]f my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

    The thrust of the Gospel tells us who we are:
1 John 3:1 (RSV)  See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God;
2 Corinthians 5:17 (RSV)
  Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (RSV)
  Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God? You are not your own; you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body
John 1:12-13 (RSV)
 But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God
  who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God
2 Peter 1:3-4 (RSV)
  His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, that through these you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of passion, and become partakers of the divine nature

    We are Blood bought, Spirit filled, Children of God. That is our present state of being in the world.  He no longer sees us as sinners in need of salvation.  He sees us as His beloved children, members of His household, saints and servants.

    As such it behooves us to keep short accounts with the lord, agree with Him concerning our lethargy and lack of faithful behavior and repent before him with prayer and thanksgiving.  Come and share a time of worship and prayer on June 24th at Christ Chapel.  We begin at 6:30 PM sharp. Come and bring your friends.
