Joshua 5:2: Consecration and Unity Precedes Taking the Land

by Mamdouh Riad on August 6, 2019

"Now ALL THESE THINGS happened to THEM (IN THE OLD TESTAMENT) as examples, and they were written for OUR admonition (IN THE NEW TESTAMENT), upon whom the ends of the ages have come."  (1 Corinthians 10:11)

Before the Israelites could conquer Jericho and enter the promised land, they had to be CONSECRATED (circumcised), and they had to take the land TOGETHER...

For us on Cape Cod, to enter our promised land (Revival), we must CONSECRATE ourselves (circumcise our hearts), and be united as ONE BODY OF CHRIST on Cape Cod before we can make any significant impact on our region...

Part of our consecration is having pure motives, seeking God's glory and not our own, building God's kingdom and not our own, sowing unity and not division/polarization, embracing humility and repenting of pride...

If we do not pursue unity and consecration, and we think we are going to have revival or "take the land" anyway, we would be as wrong and presumptuous as the Israelites in Ezekiel's time:

"Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “Son of man, they who inhabit those ruins in the land of Israel are saying, ‘Abraham was only one, and he inherited the land. But we are many; THE LAND HAS BEEN GIVEN TO US AS A POSSESSION.’ “Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “You eat meat with blood, you lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood. (THERE IS SIN IN YOUR MIDST) SHOULD YOU THEN POSSESS THE LAND? ..."
(Ezekiel 33: 23-25)

For the sake of God's glory, and for the sake of the lost on Cape Cod, we can't afford not to pursue UNITY, CONSECRATION, and UNITED PRAYER...
