Report on GOGCC April Prayer Gathering

by Earl Roberts on April 25, 2013

Dear Saints,

The Body of Christ at the Marstons Mills Community Church was privileged indeed to welcome so many of the pastors, leaders and members of the Church on Cape Cod. As always, we were a truly diverse group from the full spectrum of traditions and denominations who are called by His name.
The meeting was started with the MMCC worship band ushering us into the Presence with wonderful and uplifting music. The host pastor then greeted us and gave a short exhortation, and this was followed by a powerful and timely message from the featured speaker, Rev Victor Khokhlan, pastor of King of the Nations House of Prayer in Somerville, MA.

Pastor Victor shared with us from his unique perspective of having grown up in the old Soviet Union (remember them?) as a member of the underground church under Communist rule. He encouraged us to once again become "A house of prayer for all nations". He recounted to the rapt audience that it was the praying church which moved the hand of God and broke the back of Communism, freeing hundreds of millions of people from that yoke of bondage, and he confidently declared that the praying church of America can and will prevail over the spiritual darkness which threatens to overwhelm this nation.

In our time of corporate prayer we definitely sensed that the prevailing direction by the Spirit is that God is calling us to prayer. God is calling His Church back into the prayer closet. I know this sounds like a tautology, but I also know that the Holy Spirit has been witnessing the same emphasis to many of our pastors and leaders.

We also prayed for those affected by the recent terrorist attack in Boston, and it was our fervent prayer that our nation would be reformed by revival from within and that she would not be judged by the scourge of creeping Islamic religious radicalism, which even now is affecting many of the nations of Europe, Africa and the Pacific.

Pastor Earl ended the meeting by referencing the same scripture Jesus quoted at the cleansing of the temple:

"These I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations." [Isa 56:7]
Our next meeting will take place on May 22nd at the Falmouth Church of The Nazarene (Rev Buddy Washburn). For directions see their Facebook page:
