Report on GOGCC Prayer Meeting at Cape Cod Bible Alliance

by Myron Heckman on October 25, 2012

Our October prayer gathering of the Glory of God on Cape Cod met last evening at the Cape Cod Bible Alliance Church.

Mac Smith from the Bay Community Church (Bourne/Buzzards Bay) quoted from a hymn by J. E. Orr, "Search Me, O God." The fourth verse is a wonderful prayer for us to bring to the Lord for our personal role in revival -
O Holy Ghost, revival comes from Thee;
Send a revival, start the work in me;
Thy Word declares Thou wilt supply our need;
For blessings now, O Lord, I humbly plead.

A young man told how the Lord brought him to faith in Jesus Christ within the past two years. He had no spiritual guidance as a child, new little of Jesus Christ, and if anything, his stance as to mock Him. But a high school friend invited him to a Bible Study, and he agreed to go, and soon professed faith in Jesus Christ. He described the change in him as 180 degrees.
That was an encouraging story to hear before we prayed in groups for the salvation of loved ones, friends, and acquaintances.
During the open mic prayer time, we were reminded of the Mayflower Compact signed just off our shores, reminding us of the Pilgrims connection to the glory of God:
“In the name of God, Amen. We, whose names are underwritten…Having undertaken, for the Glory of God, and advancements of the Christian faith and honor of our King and Country,
In witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names at Cape Cod the 11th of November …1620.”
The focus on the Glory of God in this area goes back 392 years.
We are on the trail of a godly heritage.
The next Cape-wide prayer gathering is Wednesday, November 28th (Wed. after Thanksgiving) at Gateway Christian Center 4966 Falmouth Road (Route 28) Cotuit, MA 02635

These meetings are an encouragement as we stir one another up to love and good works. We'd love to see you there.
