Report on the April GOGCC Prayer Meeting at Marstons Mills Community Church

by Earl Roberts on April 27, 2017

Dear saints of Cape Cod and beyond,

Thank you for the investment of your valuable time to dedicate yourselves to corporate prayer for spiritual renewal

on our beloved Cape Cod.

The MMCC worship team ushered us into His presence with proclamation, praise, and thanksgiving in song, and Dr. Mamdouh Riad then set our foundation, reminding us that God had commissioned the prophet Jeremiah to give birth to His purposes for Israel and for the nations through prophesy and prayer: "See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant." -Jer 1:10. He challenged the Church to embrace a similar anointing and to exercise the spiritual authority we have in Christ to see God's purposes be manifested here on Cape Cod.

We then exhorted the Church with a few highlights from the account of Gideon's experiences as he was commissioned by God to deliver Israel from Midianite oppression:
  • God's work is established in the truth. (Judges 6:7)
  • We must first deal with the Baals in our own backyard (6:25-26)
  • Gideon was ever afterward known as Jerub-Baal (not Jerub-Midian). He was noted for directly attacking Israel's sin, (including his own house) before he ever vanquished Israel's enemies. (7:1)

Pastor Myron Heckman in turn first led the assembly in the recitation of our Statement Of Purpose, the Apostle's Creed, and the Disciples' (Lord's) Prayer, before inviting individual spontaneous prayers of thanksgiving for the variegated facets of our great salvation. This was followed by a season of group prayers in which we were encouraged to take our own prayer promptings from each others' prayers. What followed was a beautiful symphony of prayer, harmonized and directed by the Holy Spirit. We truly listened to each other and flowed together before the throne of grace.

Pastors and leaders were up next, each prayer as unique as the individual, each led by the Spirit: "...there the great throng of Judah's princes..." -Psa 68:27. Bro. Fred Gray of MBC then prayed a mighty prayer of commissioning and dedication over the assembled pastors.

Sis. Inna Taylor, Regional Co-ordinator of the National Day of Prayer, showed a 2-minute video and invited all to the regional observance at Grace Church of East Dennis on May 4 at 6:00 PM.

Pastor Mike Malanga invited us to meet again at Christ Chapel in Centerville for the next iteration of this prayer movement on Wednesday May 24 at 6:30 PM, before Pastor Stephen Russell of New Life Christian Center closed the meeting in prayer.

We recessed to the stirring sounds of Craig Terndrup's "Blow The Trumpet" by the MMCC worship band.
"How beautiful are your tents, Jacob, your dwelling places, Israel! Like valleys they spread out, like gardens beside a river, like aloes planted by the LORD, like cedars beside the waters." -Numbers 24:5-6

Looking for His glory, on Cape Cod,
Pastor Earl Roberts.
