Report on the April GOGCC Prayer Meeting at Marstons Mills Community Church

by Earl Roberts on May 1, 2015
Dear Saints,

It seemed right to us as we were led by the Holy Spirit that the theme for this Prayer Meeting should be "Consecration & Revival".  Taking these words to heart our meeting began with the worship team leading us in singing several devotional songs which ushered us into an atmosphere of devotion and reverence in the presence of God.

Pastor Earl opened in prayer and gave a short exhortation on the meaning of "Consecration", emphasizing that it should result in a lifestyle characterized by a pattern of consistent obedience to the word of God.  He indicated that revival must be at first evident in the lives of the "ordinary" Christian in the pews if we are to see it happen on Cape Cod at large.

We were then led in prayers of consecration and repentance by Pastors Chuck Schleich from Psalm 51- the seriousness of sin and the brokenness of true repentance, Buddy Washburn from Acts 3:19 on the complete change of course of true repentance, and Ed de La Cour who from Lamentations 3:40-42 admonished us to acknowledge and repent of our complicity in the present sin-drenched condition of our nation.

The assembled saints were then encouraged to repent individually and collectively in small groups.  After this there was a time of open microphone prayer during which several of the saints, in the prevailing spirit of repentance, prayed and exhorted the assembled churches.

Pastor Rob Swanson gave the final word and benediction, heralding the collective activity of churches reaching our communities with the gospel in unique and innovative ways.

The prayer meeting was a success!  It accomplished all that the Holy Spirit had determined for this unique gathering at this place and in this time. Glory to God on Cape Cod!

"So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11)

So beloved, you are once again invited to assemble for the purpose of prayer at South Chatham Community Church on Wednesday 20th May at 6:30 pm.

Your brother in Christ,
Pastor Earl Roberts.
