Report on the July GOGCC Prayer Meeting at Osterville Baptist Church

by Rob Wheeler on July 29, 2017
Dear Friends,

This past Wednesday, July 26th, was a powerful time of prayer for revival. It was a joy to have so many come to pray with the Glory of God on Cape Cod at Osterville Baptist Church! We began our time with multiple worship leaders of churches on the Cape leading us in worship and we sang songs to our great and glorious God—He is worthy of all honor and praise!

After Mamdouh Riad spent time reviewing why we gather to pray, we then looked at the story of Jesus’ interaction with the woman at the well in John 4. We took away one simple point from the text: Revival is necessary because people do not worship God as they should worship Him. God desires that men and women would know Him, cherish Him and love Him. People, whether they understand it, need to know Him, cherish Him and love Him. In short, God is seeking whole-hearted worshippers, as Jesus makes plain in John 4.

After our time in Gods Word, Pastor Myron Heckman led us into two times of corporate prayer. First, we prayed spontaneous prayers of adoration to our great God. We recognized His worthiness and prayed that people on Cape Cod would come to know Him through His Son, Jesus! Second, we prayed in small groups—asking God to strengthen the worship of the local churches across the Cape and to call many more men, women and children to Himself through the preaching of the gospel.

Dear Friends - God is so worthy of our glory, honor and praise. We pray for revival because we love the glory of God and we believe people will be most satisfied when they come to know Him through Jesus! I want to invite you to our next time of prayer at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship, led by Mike Allen, on August 23rd at 6:30pm. I trust that the Lord will continue to direct our prayers as we fervently pray for revival.

May God richly bless you as you seek Him!
