Report on the March GOGCC Worship and Prayer Gathering at New Life Christian Ministries International

by The GOGCC team on March 25, 2022

Dear friends, Annointed, powerful, and refreshing, is the only way to describe our worship and prayer gathering at New Life Christian Ministries International last Wednesday! Believers from different churches, denominations, ethnic groups, and generations, gathered together as one body and one family to exalt our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with one voice and pray in unity for our beloved Cape Cod. The Gathering started by Bishop Donovon Kerr warmly welcoming all and reminding us that wherever the Spirit of Lord is, there is freedom, which we indeed experienced in worship and in our prayers. This was followed by a reminder of why we gather together every month from different churches in worship and prayer, and a brief summary of The Glory of God on Cape Cod vision. The Scriptures reveals the Lord's heart in Acts 7:49, "Heaven is My throne and earth is My footstool, what kind of a house will you (plural) build for Me, or where is the place of My rest?" While in the Old Testament the Lord rested, or manifested His presence in the physical temple that Solomon built, in the New Testament, the Scriptures says that we together are His temple, and  God desires to dwell (manifest His presence) among us corporately: "For you (plural) are the temple of the living God, as God has said, I will dwell in them and walk among them.." (2 Cor 6:16) "In whom the whole building, being fitted together grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you (plural) are also being built together for a dwelling place of God (the manifest presence of God) in the Spirit." (Ephesians 2:21,22). The Lord said that David was a man after God's own heart. We get a glimpse of David's heart in Psalm 132:2-5:"He swore an oath to the Lord, he made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob: I will not enter my house or go to my bed, I will allow no sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, till I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob."  David loved the Lord, had zeal for His name and His House, and wanted to build a physical temple, a resting place for the Lord.  In the New Testament, we together are the Lord's temple, and we prepare ourselves corporately as one body and one family, a resting place for the manifest presence of God, by pursuing unity/oneness, consecration, and united prayer. The extent with which we zealosly pursue these things is the extent to which we have a heart like David. The gathering proceeded with an anointed time of worship led by one of New Life's worship teams, followed by a great exortation from pastor Awali Cousins of New Life Church from John 16:16: "In a little while you will see Me no more, and then after a little while you will see me." We were reminded that we have Kingdom work to do while we are here, before the second coming of Christ. The pastors then led us in prayer for Cape Cod. They prayed for the Lord to endow His Church with power from on high to preach the gospel with the power of the Holy Spirit to effectively penetrate the hearts of the hearers, that the Lord would pour our His Spirt on this land and open the hearts, eyes and ears of the people of this land to see and hear the beauty and glory of Jesus and come out of darkness to His glorious light. This was followed by a time of small group prayer along the same theme, that the Lord Jesus would be exalted over Cape Cod, while the worship team sang, "No Foreign God Can Take Your Place" We are grateful to the Lord for gracing us with His presence, signaling His pleasure over our gathering, and we can all testify like Jacob did in Genesis 28, "Surely God was in this place". We will gather again next month at: Marstons Mills Community Church 2135 Main Street Marstons Mills, MA 02648 6:30 - 8:00 pm Mark your calendar, plan to join us and invite your friends. Here is the Facebook event page. We look forward to seeing you next month! The Glory of God on Cape Cod team
