This Sunday 10/3/21: GOGCC Public Worship and Prayer Gathering at the Mashpee Community Park

by The GOGCC team on September 28, 2021

"And I will give you(plural) the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you(plural) bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you(plural) loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
(Matthew 16:19)

"See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant." (Jeremiah 1:10)

Dear friends,

This Sunday we will have our last outdoor public and prayer gathering for this year, at the Mashpee Community Park.

This will be our fifth public worship and prayer gathering this summer.
In June, July, and August, people from different churches across the Cape gathered  on a Sunday afternoon for a time of worship and prayer, at the Wellfleet Town Pier, the Chatham Commmunity Center Green, the Hyannis Village Green, and the soccer field of the Sandwich Wing School.

We gathered together from different denominations, theological backgrounds, ethnic groups, and generations. The presence of the Lord was palpable, and we could feel the pleasure of the Lord over us gathering before Him as one body and one family.

Earlier in May, the GOGCC team was stirred to take our monthly multi-church prayer meetings to the public square for the next few months. We began to approach different towns to obtain permits to hold such meetings.

This coming gathering will include a time of worship, pastors and leaders leading in prayer from Scriptures, and a time of small group prayer.

Mark your calendar, plan to join us, spread the word and invite your friends!
Here is the Facebook event page.

In Jeremiah 1, the Lord gave Jeremiah spiritual authority over nations and kingdoms, to root out and to plant, to pull down and to build. How did Jeremiah do that? Did he have an army like David did? No. Jeremiah prophecied over nations, that is he prayed/declared God's purposes and will over nations in His prophetic utterences/prayers, and as he did, God set things in motion to accomplish His purposes over these nations and kingdoms, to root out and to plant, to pull down and to build.

Similarly, in Mathew 16 the Lord gave His united body authority to loose or release the purposes of God in prayer "Thy Kingdom come Thy will be done", and to bind or restrain the enemy's work.

The Lord is calling us to come together as one body and one family, to stand in the gap for Cape Cod together, to pray His purposes on the Cape together, and to resist the enemy together.
As we do, we shine the light of Christ, displace the darkness, and God sets things in motion to accomplish His purposes on Cape Cod!

Statement of our unity in Christ for our prayer meetings:

We gather here to pray in one accord. Our unity glorifies God who has reconciled us to Himself and to one another. We respect our local church distinctions and secondary theological differences and we receive one another in Christ and are united in Him as He is revealed in the Bible and historically understood in the Church. Our united prayer is an instrument God uses to give birth to His purposes on Cape Cod and to the ends of the earth.

The statement below summarizes why we gather together in unity as ONE BODY, and why we do all that we do:

We gather in response to the Lord's stirring us with His desire to show His glory in our midst, and the subsequent spiritual awakening/revival on Cape Cod, with multitudes coming to Christ.

By pursuing unity, consecration, and united prayer, we prepare ourselves for what God wants to do in our midst.

"Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool, what kind of a house you (plural) will build for Me, or where is the place of My rest?" (Acts 7:49)

"In whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you (plural) also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit."
(Ephesians 2:21,22)
