Report on the June GOGCC Worship and Prayer Gathering at Grace Chapel Wellfleet
by Pastor Frank Alexander on June 21, 2022
Dear brothers and sisters, Praise the Lord for the Glory of God gathering last Sunday, June 12th in Wellfleet. We were a little disappointed at first as the gathering was to take place outside at the pier in Wellfleet. Earlier that day, the forecast was good, but it changed around 2 pm, and the gathering was moved to the inside of Grace Chapel Assembly of God Church. The sun was not shining and the rain came as we gathered together to pray for revival on our beloved Cape Cod, but The Son was shining very brightly inside. What a powerful time experiencing the presence of God together. He surely blessed us. There were several Pastors in attendance along with our brothers and sisters from the different churches represented. Pastor Mike Allen of Lighhouse Christian Fellowship opened in a wonderful prayer. Pastor Marcelo Franco and the IPR Church worship team led us in anointed and powerful worship. It was great to see Pastor Marcelo's young daughter right next to him worshipping with the team. We were briefly reminded by Dr. Mamdouh Riad of the purpose and vision of our monthly gatherings: Throughout the Scriptures we find the people of God praying for revival: “Revive us Oh Lord”, “Rend the heavens and come down", “Why should the nations say, where is your God?”, “Lord we have heard of your works, repeat them in our day.” . Even in the Lord’s prayer, the first three verses are for revival, “Hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. For the name of the Lord to be revered in a region, for His Kingdom to expand and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven in a region, isn’t that revival?. The reason God’s people prayed for revival in the Scriptures is that God Himself stirred them to, and asked them to do so specifically, “Ask the Lord for rain..”, < em>“Give yourself no rest and give Him no rest, until…” The reason God stirs His people to pray for revival is that He desires and intends to bring it, and He chooses to give birth to His purposes through the prayers of His saints. This is the whole premise of the GOGCC vision. We share the conviction that God is stirring us to come together in unity and pray for revival in one accord because He desires and intends to pour His Spirit on this land, with the Church experiencing His glory in our midst and multitudes coming to Christ. Pastor Steve Trudel of Cape Cod Bible Alliance Church shared a powerful devotion on walking in the fear of the Lord, which he defined as knowing who God is, honoring Him and responding to Him in bowing down reverential awe, and walking in obedience and holiness. Pastor Steve reminded us that this is necessary if we want to see revival on Cape Cod. It was a timely word. Each pastor present took a turn praying fervently for revival and this was encouraging to all of us. The prayer time was facilitated by Pastor Mike Pratt of Redemtion Rock Church. This was mingled with worship songs as the Spirit led. Pastor Marcello Pretti and his wife Pastor Zaly Pretti from the IPR church in Hyannis both had a powerful word from the Lord for Grace Chapel and for me personally. He shared how the Lord had a purpose for our church, how the enemy was bombarding us but the Lord had His angels encamped around us and there was hope. They shared how the Lord saw our labor and love and struggles.. They talked and prayed about some things that Donna and I were just talking about after the church service earlier that morning, as if they were there with us. It was a very encouraging word that was much needed at this time. Pastor Marcelo Pretti discerned that the whole purpose of the Lord moving the gathering inside was He wanted to encourage Grace Chapel and to encourage me and Donna personally, at a time we needed encouragement. After that all the pastors present gathered around Donna and I and prayed for us with brothers and sisters present joining in prayer. It was beautiful and moving to see the body standing together supporting one another. I am so thankful to all the pastors. They are a great group of men and women that I am privileged to know and call my friends. Thank you Brother Riad for your love of Jesus, for your passion for revival, for hanging in there all these years and for your love of the brethren. Pastor Mike Pratt of Redemtion Rock Church closed the gathering in prayer. It was nothing short of a powerful, anointed, loving service. Thanks be to God. It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.
