Logistics For Drummer Boy Park Afternoon
                   Worship and Prayer Event                             
Sunday October 4th
2- 4 pm

Dear friends,

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow afternoon for this exciting and historic event, when the regional Church of Cape Cod will gather for an afternoon of worship and prayer at Drummer Boy Park!

Undoubtedly, we all want to honor God in this event, love our neighbors well, build bridges with our community, and be a godly Christian witness to the world around us.
Therefore, we want to commit to excellence together in the way we do this event, and honor the town's requirements that we agreed to in order to have this event.

"Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak.... So this weak brother or sister, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge. When you sin against them in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall."
(1 Corinthians 8: 9,11-13)

The essence of this passage above is to be willing to sacrifice our rights for our brother's and sister's sake. Our goal in interfacing with the community in this event is to shine the light of Christ, and we do so not just by our worship and prayer, but by being godly Christian witnesses following the town's requirements and avoid being a stumbling block. We don't want to have even the remote appearance that we don't care about spreading COVID-19 in the community. Doing this event in excellence and honoring the town's requirement will glorify God and open the door for us to grow in favor with the town and the community, and hold similar future events in the public square.

The following are important logistics about the event. They originate in satisfying the requirements of the town of Brewster's Health Department, Fire Department, and Police Department. This is for you to know what to expect tomorrow:

1. Above are pictures of parking areas and seating/standing areas at the park. They are both divided into 4 sections, A,B,C,D.

2. We will have parking attendants wearing orange vests directing you to where to park to ensure we can accomodate as many people as possible. Upon exiting your car you will be given an index card (also with a pen you can keep) with the section you have been parked in. Place your contact information on the card and your church's name. This index card is for COVID contact tracing. This is a town requirement. This information will remain private and not be shared with any government officials. This is for YOUR protection so we can notify you in the event that someone at the event tested positive for COVID-19. We will know exactly which section was exposed and notify those people in close proximity. Keep the index card with you to remember which section you parked in, and then give it back the parking attendant when you leave.

3. We are expecting a large number of people at this event. Please try to carpool with people in your "quarantine pod." Pastor Doug Scalise of Brewster Baptist Church graciously offered the parking lot his church as a meeting point. Brewster Baptist Church is 2 miles away from the park right on Route 6 A. You can plan to meet there and park your cars and then carpool to Drummer Boy's Park.

4. Please maintain 6 feet of distance from your next neighbor when you select your place. This is a town requirement. 

5. Please wear your Facemask at all times during the service. This is a requirement from the Health Department of the town of Brewster. Here is an excerpt from the email we received about this: 

"Because this event is qualifying as a religious service (exempt from the outdoor event category), my interpretation of the Places of Worship Sector Specific Workplace Standards require face coverings on attendees participating in in-person services no matter what the separation distance is between parties.  As a matter of safety, especially with the number of anticipated attendees, the requirement of face coverings for all (unless exempt for medical reasons or under 2 y.o.) during the service will reduce the risk of potential transmission of COVID or any other illness between participants."

6. Plan to be parked and settled in your seating/standing area between 1:30 - 1:45 pm. We will start the meeting promptly at 2 pm.

7.  Upon the end of the service, you will be dismissed
 by sections. Section D first, followed by Section C, followed by Section B and ending with Section A. This will hopefully ensure there is no traffic congestion. This is also a town requirement.

8. Bring your own lawn chair, bottle of water, hand sanitizer, and facemask. 

9. We will have two portable bathrooms available on site.
